Round Face

Over the past 2 weeks I have lost 6lbs. I am hoping that I reach the 260's next week. I have been stuck in the 270's for the past 2 freaking months. It is frustrating as hell. I reached out to a band buddy who recently reached 100lbs lost and asked for her advice. Well, I actually asked her how the hell she did it. She eats approx 1,000 cals per day which are mostly protein and exercises...a LOT! So, I have been following that advice and guess what.....IT WORKS. I am eating 1,000 cals or less per day. Exercising 4-5 days per week, burning approx 600 cals per "exercise day". I restarted with my personal trainer too. I feel good. I am starting to see subtle changes but I still dislike my body. My belly is too flabby, I have a fat apron, I have a shelf butt and I have bat wings. It sucks! People take pictures of me and I hate them. I rarely, rarely ever LIKE a picture of myself. If you are friends with me on FB you will see a million pics of my family and VERY FEW of me. I guess I better start talking to the therapist about my self image. Speaking of therapist. I met with my new therapist last week and I like her. She has experience with emotional eating. Not personal but work experience. She said that she worked at Wellspring in CA. It is a "fat camp" for kids. She let me borrow a book but I haven't started reading it yet. I will, I will....gosh!

I picked the above picture because I just love it and because I need a little help. I have a ROUND face! No matter how thin I am, my face is round. I see women that are overweight but by looking at their face, you can't tell. I am envious of those women. I wish I had a thinner or "less round" face but I do. I hate it. I really hate it! Note to self...mention to therapist.

I am week 3, day 2 of C25k training. It is becoming more difficult but I am hanging in there. I really want this weight to come off and I really want to be able to run a 5k in June. I know I can do this. "I think I can, I think I can". HaHa!

  1. Hey good for you! Keep at it. Just be proud of yourself and don't focus on the loose skin or photos etc because it will only demotivate you. Best of luck,.

  2. I don't think that you have a very round face at all, you're doing really well.
I try and stick under 1200 cals a day, not doing as well on the exercise though, well done!

  4. I struggle with my round face too but the only thing that I think is less attractive than a "fat" face is a super old looking face. And its hard for a round face to look old ;) Youre beautiful!

  5. I think you are being too critical of your face.. I think it is looking good. And remember, as you lose weight, you WILL lose weight in your face. Some of us do it in the beginning of their weight loss (me) and some of us do it towards the end (you). But don't worry, it will happen! And don't be so critical.. you look great in that picture.

    Are we facebook friends yet??

  6. Try not to focus on those things you dislike about yourself. You are doing so great so please make sure you celebrate your great success. A big plus about a rounder face is that you will always look younger than you are. At least that's what I've noticed about people. My Mom's friend has a round face and she always looks so young. Your eating and exercise sound awesome. Glad you are being rewarded by good numbers on the scale.

  7. For what it's worth I don't see a round face at all and what I do see is a gorgeous woman who carries her weight well.

If I can offer any advice it is to stop being so hard on yourself. You are gorgeous (and you have a gorgeous family!) and you are working your way down the scale. That will change things in itself - but you really don't "need" to for looks.

You are doing so well! And I'm confident you will run that 5k in June!

  8. I think you have a lovely face! I like that picture too. Just keep doing what you're doing. You're losing weight, working out and learning to eat better. Keep it up!

  9. Congrats on the losses!! The fact you're working with a trainer will help build that muscle needed to burn fat quicker, so remember that if you do plateau, you will still see the results in your measurements, so be sure to keep track of those, since you'll be replacing fat with muscle. I'm thrilled for you, Kerri!

  10. Glad you have gotten back on track with your losses. I am plagued with a round face too. It thins out a little when I am losing but for the most part it stays FULL and ROUND! Learn to love your features! It's not so bad.
