And the Results Are.....

I got my results and my thyroid was NORMAL! WTF, NORMAL???!???!?? Well, I guess I can't blame the obesity, weightloss stal and depression on my dang thyroid. NOPE. Actually all my labs were fine. I mean, I should be happy, and I am but I was kinda hoping for some sort of medical issue. But NOPE.

So, whatchya gonna do, you ask????

Here is my plan:
  1. I ordered a Fitbit and it should be here by the weekend. I need a little help figuring out how many cals I am taking in and how many I am burning. It is a fraction of the price of the BodyBugg and from what I have read, it is what I am looking for.
  2. I am gonna use the Fitbit website to monitor my cal intake.
  3. I am gonna MOVE 6 days per week, maybe even 7.
  4. I am going to try a new protein shake by Body By Vi, Janelle is using it and has had good results, maybe this will help me get over my hump.
My question to all you bloggers is:

Would you try the phentermine that the Dr is recommending? Even short-term?

Thanks for encouraging me, I greatly appreciate it!!!

  1. First, yay for the FitBit!! I hope you love it!

Second, I think taking meds is such a personal choice. It is a life changer in the best way for some people and a frustrating crutch for others. Neither is wrong, people are just different. Just try to examine your heart and figure out what is right for you. (Maybe others will have some more insight for you.)

Can't wait to hear FitBit stories!

  2. I say go for what ever you feel is right for you- no need to justify or feel bad about it. You are taking steps to improve your health and that is nothing but awesome!

  3. Hon, do what you feel is right for you. if it will give you the jumpstart you need to get the scale moving and help youon a psycological level by seeing the scale move, that is great. I think that sooner or later, your body will just click and your looses will kick in and I know it is hard not to be frustrated, but at least you know it is not your thyroid. I had the same testing back in 2009 and I felt the same way as you, becuase I hoped there was some sort of justification for being overwight. All I know is that keep doing what you are doing and watching/tracking/all that you eat, it will make a difference.

  4. no. I would be too worried about what happens when you stop.

Course I say that now...but with a mood swing it could change.

  5. I am not a huge fan of meds. They just don't react well with me! But I do have a friend who lost a load of weight with that drug. I personally think getting your fit bit, drinking the protein shake, and exercising is a great start to getting back where you want to be! Maybe give that some time and see how it works then consider the drug if it isn't helping!
